A spice aficionado, Alisa Taylor-Kapoor founded Spice Genie to create a unique line of products inspired by spices. Alisa says, "I've always been fascinated with spices- since the beginning of time people around the world have incorporated spices into their beauty regimens, as preventative medicine and of course to flavor food."
Alisa's creations draw from a myriad of influences- visiting the spice stalls of Morocco, sipping a cup of tea in a Chinese tearoom and preparing exotic dishes introduced by a Thai street peddler.
Alisa has an undergraduate and graduate degree from Boston University where she studied human services management. |

Alisa has always loved cooking international cuisine because it introduced her to different cultures and found that it was a fantastic way of bringing people together. In addition, she took a handful of adult education cooking classes and trained with one of Boston's leading chefs and caters.
Alisa learned the art of blending spices from her mother-in-law in India and continues to hone to her culinary experience through classes at Boston University's Culinary Arts Program.
